Let me share two lists with you –

But yet for the blessings of God and the perseverance – or as he puts it, “the work of today” of our next recipient – do the two lists go together.
The first list represents the challenges of before – the years of struggles that our recipient Kevin Figgins has overcome to present himself to us today as his school counselor reports – a “strong, hardworking, polite and respectful young man” with an infectious smile and willing to take on the challenge of fighting to be accepted to Martin Luther King Magnet School his senior year.
The second list. Well that of course represents the future for this young man. For through his leadership roles in the Future Business Leaders of America, TN Governor’s School, Boy’s State, Marching and Concert Band and too many others to report, the first list is simply his past.
The second list… yes that is where Kevin is headed.
