The Bootstraps Foundation embarked upon new territory. For the first time in Bootstraps history, the foundation organized a fashion show to raise money to award scholarships. This was a great opportunity to make a difference in education, not just for the scholarship recipients but for Nashville as a whole community. This fashion show took place at The Nashville City Club on June 28, 2012.
In attendance was a mix of industry executives, country music artists, athletes and Nashville’s fashion community. Silent auction bidding ended as the models took the stage, and donations were accepted discreetly throughout. NFL kicker and Tennessee Titan Rob Bironas and recording artist Danielle Peck hosted the show.
The Bootstraps Foundation thanks our honorary chairperson, Tammy Genovese, for her help in bringing this show together. Former CEO of the CMA (Country Music Association) and former president of The Country Network, Ms. Genovese was intrigued by this project’s ability to represent Nashville as country, stylish, and above all, charitable. The team behind the scenes was stellar. Milton White, Style and Media Director of The Fashion Office and the show’s producer, has held fashion shows across the US and was recently tapped by Nordstrom for the pre fall 2012 presentation of Oscar de la Renta for the Nashville Symphony.
Stylist to the stars, Betsy Briggs Cathcart and her glam squad from Studio BBC SalonHair graciously donated their talent to Passion for Fashion. They were responsible for the creative hair styles and stylized make up that set the tone for the runway models.
These high fashion models were courtesy of EYE Model Management. EYE is famous for scouting and developing models on an international level. These models have walked the runways and graced the pages of most notable fashion publications. The Bootstraps Foundation, with the help of many, united the beauty of Nashville, the glamour of its fashion designers and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of deserving high school students.
